What is your approach to counselling?

My approach to counselling engages people as their whole selves. I attend to what is happening in the room. This includes what is coming up in your thoughts, feelings, and body. It also means paying attention to the quality of our connection as people within our roles as counsellor and client. I approach all my work with an attention to the social and cultural context. We can explore who you are and where you come from– your personal circumstances, identities, values and experiences and how you have been impacted by experiences of trauma, violence, and oppression. My approach is informed by many theories, philosophies, and modalities:
