Dating and Relationships
Our experiences, including experiences of trauma and violence inform how we approach relationships. In response to past hurts, sometimes people form rigid ideas about themselves and why relationships are the way they are. With that, habits in relationships created to protect us from getting hurt may no longer be useful or needed. In counselling, we can help identify your unique patterns of relating that may be preventing you from being able to form deep and mutually satisfying connections in the present.
We can explore in counselling what kind of relationships you want and deserve and ultimately, the kind of life you envision for yourself. I can support you in navigating new relationships and relationship structures (polyamory, open relationships, etc.), breakups, long term relationships, and chosen or imposed solitude.
